Logistics Research Centre (LRC)

Heriot-Watt University has been engaged in logistics research and teaching for over 25 years

Our leadership in logistics was recognised in the mid-1980s when we became only the second university in the UK to develop expertise in logistics teaching and research looking at the management of the flow of goods.

Our Logistics Research Centre (LRC) was set up in 1997 to explore the many aspects of logistics for commercial, government and other sectors.

Academic Research

Research projects undertaken by the LRC can be divided into four categories:

  • Externally-funded projects for UK government research councils;
  • Externally-funded projects for other public and private sector organisations;
  • Internally-funded research
  • PhD research projects

Business & Public Research

The LRC has undertaken projects for many public and private sector organisations both in the UK and internationally and is always interested in extending its client base and collaborating with other organisations involved in logistics research.
