Business Management
There are around twenty full-time academic staff in Business Management, as well as a number of part-time and guest lecturers, many of whom also work in business and industry. Staff specialise in a number of different areas such as marketing, human resource management, logistics, enterprise, business strategy, retailing, strategic project management, and business law.
Teaching
Our undergraduate degree programmes are focused on providing understanding of business organisations and their key elements, but also of wider considerations such as environments, markets and processes, and how all these work together. Flexible pathways allowing you to specialisation in the functional areas such as marketing or HRM. There is also an opportunity to spend a year studying abroad, or to undertake a relevant internship/placement.
Our postgraduate programmes include specialist programmes such as Logistics and Supply Chain Management, International Fashion Marketing, and Strategic Project Management. We also offer a broad based International Business Management programme where students are able to choose one of five specialist pathways, allowing the opportunity to study key areas of business management in more depth.
Research
We have a strong and diversified research culture in the Department with expertise across the full range of business subjects. We are internationally renowned for research in Logistics and our Logistics Research Centre provides advice to government and industry as well as trade bodies and forums.
