About the School of Management & Languages
One of eight academic schools and institutes at Heriot-Watt University, the School of Management and Languages is a diverse and multi-disciplinary school that reaches across four programme areas:
The School offers undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes at both our Edinburgh and Dubai campuses. We also have an internationally renowned undergraduate distance learning programme, as well as a range of English Language courses. Our PhD programme is well established and highly successful.
We have a strong international focus in both our teaching and research. We have excellent links and collaborative partnerships with leading business and language schools all over the world including student exchange programmes with universities in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. We have joint degree programmes with institutions across Europe, and an undergraduate distance learning programme with partners from Trinidad to Sri Lanka.
Our academics are involved in a range of research and consultancy work funded by international agencies such as ESRC, EU, EBRD, World Bank, industry, commerce and government both in the UK and overseas.
History
The School was formed in 2002 when the School of Management and the School of Languages merged. Coming together as one School has allowed us to develop and enhance interdisciplinary working across our teaching programmes, research and business services.
